According to reports, before WrestleMania 39, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns may lose one of his world titles.
Since turning heel, the Tribal Chief has reigned over the Universal Championship for over two years. However, Brock Lesnar is returning in 2021 with the WWE Championship.
When The Beast Incarnate lost the WWE title to Bobby Lashley, he won it back at the 2022 Elimination Chamber. After making a last-minute entry and winning the Royal Rumble 2022, Lesnar challenged Reigns to a Winner Takes All match for both titles. However, Head of the Table defeated and killed Brock Lesnar, only to win and become the double championship holder at WrestleMania 38.
The company has had both titles challenging for Reigns since this year’s ‘Mania. Now before Road to WrestleMania 39, WWE can separate Universal and World Title.
WrestlingNews.co has learned that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is still not confirmed for WrestleMania. The company’s current strategy is that if The Rock cannot attend, Cody Rhodes will challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship.
WWE is reportedly looking to commit The Rock before the Royal Rumble as that is when things will kick off for The Showcase of the Immortals.

Possible lineup for WrestleMania 39 if Roman Reigns loses a title
Since WWE intends to defend each of Reigns’ titles during WrestleMania 39, and he is only booked for one match, his status as a double champion may change.
According to WrestlingNews.co, the following are the currently reported plans for the main event matches at WrestleMania:
Night 1 – WWE Championship:
Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins or Cody Rhodes.
Night 2 – Universal Championship:
Roman Reigns vs TBD. If The Rock is unable to perform, Cody Rhodes will step in.

If he can’t get The Rock, then Cody will rise to the occasion against Roman.
How the company will split the WWE Championship and Universal Championship is reportedly still being determined. However, it looks like each brand will be the top headlines of the summer.
