WWE returned to Madison Square Garden this Monday night for an epic holiday live event when Raw was not on television.
The show featured a massive five-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, in which Gunther successfully defended his title against SmackDown stars Shinsuke Nakamura, Madcap Moss, Kofi Kingston and Santos Escobar.
Bray Wyatt was advertised for the show, and fans loved him in New York City. He walked out to answer Jinder Mahal’s open challenge, which led to their singles bout. Wyatt used Sister Abigail to seal the victory in his first WWE match since returning to the company earlier this year.

Solo Sequoia of The Bloodline made his MSG debut to huge applause from the fans. He feuded with Braun Strowman after Sami Zayn said he was not medically cleared to compete.
The Monster Among Monsters defeated Sequoia via DQ, after which The Bloodline brutally attacked him. Kevin Owens ran to Strowman’s aid and then engaged in a verbal duel with Sami Zayn.
This led to a huge non-title tag team match being booked for the main event of the show. Kevin Owens teamed with Strowman to face The Usos in a non-title match, which ended in a surprise loss for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
What else happened at the WWE MSG live event?
As reported by Wrestling Headlines, the show opened with a tag team match, in which Sheamus teamed with Ridge Holland to take on Imperium members Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Celtic Warrior hits a Brogue Kick to seal the victory for the Brawling Brutes.
Hit Row (Ashante The Adonis, Top Dolla, and B-Fab) locked horns against Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Zelina Vega). In the match, Vega jumped on Top Dolla’s back but could not do much to help her team, who ultimately lost.
In a singles match, Karrion Kross faced Drew Gulak. The bout drew controversial chants from fans who were clearly bored during the long bout, but some in attendance said it was a fun bout.
In the final event, Liv Morgan defeated Shayna Baszler in a NYC Street Fight. The final moments of the match saw Morgan hit Baszler with a leg drop while the latter was lying on a table, hoping to put him through the furniture before the pinfall. Unfortunately, the table didn’t break, leaving Morgan clearly disappointed.
