Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa hinted at returning to the company six days after battling Rhea Ripley on the latest episode of Raw.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, The Street Profits faced Damian Priest and Finn Balor. The former Raw Tag Team Champions picked up the victory via a distraction from Tozawa.
Rhea again challenged the 16-time 24/7 Champion to an Inter-Gender match. However, the former Raw Women’s Champion quickly defeated the Japanese star after teaming up with Riptide.
After the contest, the former Cruiserweight Champion wished the fans a Merry Christmas and announced that his 2022 is “done”.
In this latest post on Twitter, Tozawa shared a photo with Japanese wrestling stars Shingo Takagi and BxB Hulk. His alliance with Takagi and Hulk, with the latter being called off, could serve as another sign that he could be leaving WWE soon.
Tozawa wrote in Japanese, “3 people together, everyone is getting old. I’m glad I did my best.”

When was the last time Akira Tozawa hinted at joining WWE?
For years before appearing on 24/7, Akira Tozawa competed in the company’s cruiserweight division. However, his ninja gimmick did not go over well with the fans, as he mainly competed in menu events.
A few weeks ago, the 37-year-old competed against Baron Corbin in a singles match. Despite losing the competition, Akira Tozawa performed brilliantly.
After the match, the WWE Universe wanted to see more of him. However, the former Cruiserweight Champion posted a picture of his ring gear on Twitter. He also named the photo a “thank you”, hinting at his departure from the company.
Of course, this could also mean Tozawa is giving up his ninja persona for good. Still, fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for the Japanese star.
