Former SmackDown manager Teddy Long wants Nick Aldis to appear in WWE and remove Roman Reigns as the Undisputed Universal Champion.
Aldiss will soon become a free agent when his contract with the NWA expires in January 2023. The 36-year-old is also embroiled in a bitter real-life feud with the company which has led to his suspension.
However, fans are excited to see what Aldis will do once he officially becomes a free agent. Although there have been reports of Triple H’s interest in bringing him to WWE,
nothing has been confirmed yet. In a one-on-one with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Teddy Long shares his thoughts on Nick Aldis joining the Global Juggernaut.
The former SmackDown manager believes that Aldis should debut and make his presence felt immediately by defeating Roman Reigns as Universal Champion. Long then said that the former NWA World Champion should resume his feud with Cody Rhodes from 2018, which kept the fans hooked.
“That money is right there. But I’ll do it another way. I’ll call Nick first and take the belt from Roman Reigns. I’ll do it that way and then he’s out there celebrating.” And here comes Cody,” said Teddy Long.
The wrestling legend also said that since many fans are aware of the Cody and Aldis feud, its revival could generate a lot of interest.
“He’s gone, so he’ll definitely get a great pop ’cause people remember him, and they want to see him, and a lot of people will be in that audience; I’m pretty sure he’s familiar with that.” Had a feud with Nick Aldis in the NWA. So, I think it would be a great combination. Hopefully it can happen,” said Teddy Long. (23:43 – 24:15)

Nick Aldis also wants a third match with WWE’s Cody Rhodes
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Unscripted, Nick Aldis also expressed his desire to complete his trilogy with Cody Rhodes. Aldiss said that although he did not rule out the possibility, the match could only take place if something “significant” happens as they are not part of the same promotion.
“I don’t know. I mean, there’s always a chance. Obviously, something very significant would have to happen in the present for it to become a possibility. I liked that angle. For me it’s the most enjoyable stretch of my career.” Nick Aldis said.
If Triple H is going to change #WWE then bringing Nick Aldis into the #RoyalRumble would be a step in the right direction. Aldis can work with just about everyone on the roster and he would be the perfect starting foil for the returning Cody.
Fans will surely be keeping a close eye on whether Aldis and WWE decide to join hands once Aldis is released from his contract with the NWA.
