While Roman Reigns used the supporting part of The Shield’s entrance theme for a large portion of his WWE career, the iconic intro remains exclusive to the faction. A rare video has recently resurfaced on social media which shows its origin.
Jon Moxley (then known as Dean Ambrose), Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins dominated the company for several years as part of The Shield. He won several titles during his illustrious career and defeated top factions such as The Wyatt Family and Evolution.
WWE’s official Twitter account posted the following video in light of the upcoming 10th anniversary of The Shield’s debut in 2012:
The video featured the former stablemates in a backstage setting recording their group’s famous introduction.

The Shield has dominated the world of wrestling since its WWE debut ten years ago
The Shield debuted at Survivor Series 2012 during a World Championship match between CM Punk, Ryback, and John Cena. Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns came to the aid of Punk and attacked the former Intercontinental Champion.
While relatively unknown at the time, the trio quickly made their mark as a trio, taking down many of the top names in the industry at one point. Following their split in 2014, all three have gone on to have successful careers as singles competitors.
Jon Moxley is in the midst of his third reign as the AEW World Champion, a former WWE Champion. Seth Rollins is one of the top stars in WWE and currently holds the United States Championship. At the same time, Roman Rance is the face of the company. He won both world titles after holding the Universal Championship for over 804 days.
The last time the three competed together was in 2019, when Moxley’s contract with WWE was about to expire. The Shield’s last match was against the team of Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre in Moline, Illinois.
Given that Moxley just signed a five-year contract with AEW, the chances of the three meeting again in the squared circle are slim. Meanwhile, Reigns and Rollins continued to wreak havoc on the Stamford-based company.
