Why is tonight’s WWE SmackDown event so important to Roman Reigns?

Following her recent physical feud with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, WWE Superstar Natalya’s latest injury could cause her to miss one of the biggest events on the company’s calendar.

The Queen of Hearts lay lifeless in the ring after losing to Basler on SmackDown last week. After the match, Rousey’s close friend took things to the extreme when the SmackDown Women’s Champion instructed her to kneel on Natty’s face. The Canadian star’s nose was badly broken as a result of this attack.

According to Dave Meltzer, writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE legend is set to be out of action for at least three months, which means she will miss the Royal Rumble on January 28, 2023.

“Natalya suffered a dislocated nose and required surgery on 11/7. She will be out of action for at least three months and probably a little longer as they wait for it to fully heal. And it wasn’t three weeks ago. She had ankle surgery a few years ago to prove she could.” (h/t WrestleTalk)

WWE Legend Is Finally Working With Shayna Baszler With Ronda Rousey
Given that the two women were real friends long before their time in WWE, as well as their experiences in the UFC, it comes as a surprise to many that the company is only now putting both women on screen together.

Echoing this point is former WWE manager Dutch Mantel (aka Zeb Colter), who stated on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s SmackTalk that as a storytelling, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s partnership creates many storytelling opportunities.

“Well, they’ve opened the door now and they’ve got a lot of avenues to go as well. I think they should have found it a long time ago. It gives them a lot of avenues to go and I really like it.” like.” to like. Because it’s a story in itself,” Mantel said.
The former WWE manager also revealed how long it took the company to put the two stars together.

“I don’t know why they waited so long to do this. I mean, that’s the story you see. They’re both from the UFC and MMA worlds. I don’t know if they ever had that idea, why they No follow through. I love that and I love the little touch of blood at the end.” (h/t Sportskeeda)
