On the last episode of WWE SmackDown, Liv Morgan defeated Sonya Deville in a No Disqualification match. Also on the show, Gunther successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio.
WWE started off with a bang after Crown Jewel 2022 as the most recent episode of Raw was spectacular. Fans can expect something similar when WWE SmackDown airs live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on November 11, 2022.
The promotion has announced that The Usos will defend their undisputed Tag Team Championship against The New Day on Friday night. On top of that, Shinsuke Nakamura vs Santos Escobar and the World Cup will begin in the upcoming episode.
On that note, here are five things that could happen on the show.
WWE Smackdown World Cup is about to start with the upcoming episode. While the promotion hasn’t announced any details, fans can expect changes on Friday’s show.
WWE may reveal the brackets for the World Cup, and fans can watch the first leg matches. The winner of the World Cup will get a shot at the prestigious Intercontinental Championship, with the superstar expected to give his all.
Shinsuke Nakamura will face Santos Escobar in the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown. The former Royal Rumble winner started the bout a few weeks ago after helping the Blue Brand win a hit row at the Legado del Fantasma.
While Nakamura and Escobar are expected to face off, the latter fixture could make an appearance during the competition. The remaining members of the Legado del Fantasma on the creative team can help their leader dominate Friday night’s The King of Strong Style.
#3. The Fiend returns to WWE SmackDown
Bray Wyatt appeared at Crown Jewel 2022 to deliver another exciting promo. However, he is once again interrupted by Uncle Howdy, who tells The Eater of Worlds not to take off his mask. This angle has left fans speculating that Wyatt is resorting to his “diabolical” persona.
WWE may return Wyatt’s former alter ego on Friday night. Given that Braun Stoman’s feud against Omos reached its climax in the Saudi spectacle, The Fiend may attack his former Wyatt family member, laying the breadcrumbs for a potential feud.
The Usos vs The New Day has been announced for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship for WWE SmackDown. However, there is a lot of potential for possible interference from Sami Zayn and Solo Sequoia during the match.
Fans can expect the defending champions to retain the title courtesy of Zayn and Sequoia. This would allow the Samoan Twins to surpass The New Day’s record and become the longest-reigning tag team champions of all time.
After the match, the Heels could attack New Day to save the trio of Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch.
WWE is advertising Roman Reigns for Friday’s show. The head of the table could address the WWE Universe after his massive win against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel 2022.
However, he could be interrupted by Matt Riddle. For those unaware, The Original Bro is set to head to town for Friday’s show. While this could make for a black match, the possibility of Riddle appearing during his reign cannot be ruled out.
One must not forget that Matt Riddle and the Reigns have history, and with the arrival of Survivor Series: WarGames, Riddle could face the current undisputed Universal Champion. Their potential clash could also lay the foundation for a WarGames match later this month.
