EC3 believes that CM Punk should have no complaints with WWE for booking The Rock into the main event of WrestleMania 29.
The rumors surrounding The Straight Edge Superstar’s impending AEW departure have left fans wondering if he will return to WWE.
The Second City Saint was with WWE from 2005 to 2014, before surprising the world last year by returning to pro wrestling with the promotion of Tony Khan.
Although his tenure was an objective success, CM Punk left the company for a variety of reasons. One rumor was that The Rock was unhappy about ending his WWE Championship reign at the 2013 Royal Rumble and facing John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 stated that there were several main event matches promoting Punk. He argued that a star of The Rock’s stature would be the title of any show he is a part of, and there was no reason for CM Punk to hold grudges against global juggernaut.
“Why not! Who cares? Should he return to WWE? The thing is, his biggest complaint was that he never made it to the ‘main event of WrestleMania,’ despite the fact that he had high potential. The matches worked and there was so much more than the show practically made as the main event. Look, man, I’m sorry The Rock is back, but he’s The Rock; that last match. Will be in,” EC3 said.
Also, the former NXT star revealed that even though he didn’t headline the show, CM Punk wrestled The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. EC3 believes that Punk will be hoping to return to the promotion this time to fulfill his long-standing desire to compete. , Main Event of WrestleMania.
“Who cares if you’re eight, who cares if you’re seventh, who cares if you’re sixth, you’re working Undertaker! That’s fine. But maybe his strategy was, ‘Maybe me Must be the guy who leaves and comes back as a special attraction to get that last match spot.’ And if so, how does it work. Congratulations, he did it.” Couples EC3 (2:56 – 3:47)
